Homeschool is NOT JUST teaching at your kitchen table.  It can be more than that.

Homeschooling might be defined as "Parents deciding and directing the education of their children."
Notice that definition does not say "Parents doing all the teaching..."  Here are some possibilities today:
  • Some subjects taught at home, every subject taught by the parent
  • Some subjects from home, some from the Internet
  • Some taught by the parent and some taught with a DVD course (or video)
  • Some public school districts allow homeschooled students to take one or more courses on campus at the school
  • Some private schools invite homeschoolers to participate in the course of their choice
  • Some areas have classes taught only to homeschoolers one day a week
  • Some homeschoolers attend local community colleges to earn their high school credits AND college credits with the same course.
  • And, there are many more options, too.  Please remember, it is not the parent's job to DO it all -- it's the parent's job to be sure it gets done!
Homeschool materials are more than textbooks. There are textbooks (of course), self-designed courses, project-driven courses, application courses on-site, apprenticeships, job-shadowing, self-paced workbooks, and an array of curriculum choices that make public schools jealous!  Yes, courses can come with lesson plans, answer keys, and all the accessories used by traditional classrooms, if you like.  YOU use it, so YOU choose it!  There's plenty of freedom here.

Yes, we understand the "Homeschool FEAR Factor."  Maybe we can help.
