Pg 018: Prison, school

Education

In America, there are only two institutions that fit the following description:

You enter involuntarily and you are told
when you must report to your station
    when you can stand up
    when you must sit down
    when you can work
    when you must stop work
    when you can talk
    when you must be quiet
    when you can eat
    when you must stop eating

And, all of this is controlled with a series of bells and uniformed authorities who tell you what to do and when to do it.

The two institutions are prison and public school.

(P.S.  The military is voluntary, you don't have to join.   Your job is voluntary, because you can move on if you decide.)
