When our children developed language, we learned how much we “lie” to our children.  Yes, we lie to our children.

 

“Go to the car, honey, I’ll be there in a minute."

 

“I need to make a quick phone call before I help you."

 

Wow, what an awakening!  We developed carefully worded alternatives to these   common lies.  We believe it made a huge difference in how our children trusted our words.
